ABOUT DAVID J. VAN BAARS, ESQ.
I was born and raised in Massachusetts, and earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in History at Westfield State College in Westfield MA. I graduated from New England School of Law in Boston in 1987, and was admitted to practice in the State of Maine in September of 1987. In addition, I was admitted to practice before the United States District Court, District of Maine, in June of 1989, and in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in August of 1990.
I have authored numerous articles on landlord/tenant issues and I am a co-author of Maine Landlord/Tenant Statutes and Commentaries, a bi-annual compilation of all Maine statutes relating to the landlord/tenant field, along with insightful comments as to their applicability. I have conducted several seminars on landlord/tenant matters for both legal professionals, and property managers/landlords, and I am available to speak to groups and associations.
I travel throughout the State of Maine on behalf of my landlord clients, and I am in the various District Courts on a fairly regular basis handling evictions.
